For developers Westfield have put in an application to the Gold Coast City Council for a massive expansion of the first stage of the Coomera Town Centre, with the proposal to add office blocks, a nightclub and cinemas to the centre.

The proposal — if accepted — will widen the proposed first stage of the town centre development on Foxwell Rd from 55,000 sq m to 61,000 sp m. It is expected the application will be a win for local businesses, residents and people seeking to move to Coomera as it is expected to generate 1200 jobs during construction and 1600 permanent positions once it opens, according to the Bulletin.

Coomera also has plans for a TAFE, a university campus and Queensland’s biggest shopping centre.

Darren Walters, head of No 1 Property Guide has said the boom in housing had been exciting for Coomera with prices skyrocketing over the past 20 months.
